Vicinity engaged us to design bespoke rugs for Melbourne’s Emporium, harmonising with the organic curves of Mobilia’s Pebble Rubble Modular Sofa. We embraced rich tones and a stipple pattern to marry form with function, ensuring beauty and durability in this high-traffic space.

Taking inspiration from nature’s timeless rhythm, we chose a rich and sophisticated palette—deep blues, burgundy, and neutral tones—that seamlessly blend with the Pebble sofa’s distinct, curvaceous shapes. We knew that the organic, pebble-like forms of the furniture offered an opportunity to play off these soft, flowing lines in the rug design, enhancing the space’s overall aesthetic.

Additionally, considering the heavy foot traffic in areas like the co-working space near where the rugs are situated, it was essential to add a practical touch. To ensure longevity and minimise the visibility of wear, we incorporated a stipple pattern that introduces a sense of movement within the rug itself. This not only adds a dynamic visual element but also cleverly disguises stains, making it the perfect balance between beauty and functionality.

By merging design and durability, our bespoke rugs enhance the Emporium’s environment, offering both comfort and style to its visitors.
